Took a road trip around the state late in August and stopped at Broggan's Oasis on the Grande Ronde river around noon to have lunch. We pulled into the little rest area and after lunch I unpacked the fly rod and tied on a black nymph. First cast, a nice fat trout hits it. Now I have not fly fished in months so it took a moment to register "Hey, that's a fish". Played it for a moment and he broke off the line and went on it's merry way.
