Well yesterday the big Everett Derby started. I made it out of the Everett launch and made it about halfway to Mukeltio when I tossed a bearing in my main motor. Been running perfectly all year and then Pow! So limped back into the launch and pulled the boat. Put the boat back in at Rotary for a bit, but my mood was less than good. Fished a few hours on the kicker. Saw one fish roll. That was it. Didn't talk to anyone with anything. So got up this morning and figured I got a ticket, so better at least try. Ran to the Snoqualmie. Perfect morning to fish other than the river is to low. Fished about 3 hours. First fish was a white fish. About 15 inches. Pretty good size for a whitefish. Would have taken it home if I thought I could catch a mess of them. Then saw a silver roll. About an hour working through the hole slow as I was in no hurry and nobody was around I hooked up with a really nice silver. Had it on for five minutes. Bigger than I'm used to seeing in the Snoqualmie. Got it up close to the bar and thing spit the hook. The whole time I was thinking, yeah at least in a second I'm going to have a decent size fish to check. Bright as a silver dollar. Well I guess I'll have to hit it this week after work. Hopefully that predicted rain comes and isn't to much! Hopefully my boat gets fixed and I can get it out on the salt or in the river when they come!
