Went bright and early on the Skagit. I was casting from the bank and there were a few others also. There were many boats drifting down. One of the boats landed about a 6-7 pounder near the hole I was fishing. Shortly after the boat drifted by I hooked a little guy. He would have been a keeper but he got away. Would have been my first salmon after a 28 year hiatus. Decided to check on a few other holes up river and saw another one landed. Another 6-7 pounder. I was using a green Dick Nite. I'm not sure what the others were using.

I've fished the skagit probably 20 times since the opener and haven't gotten one silver. It's starting to get a bit frustrating and deflating my ego all at the same time.

I went to the baseball fields at Skagit River park in Burlington, and about 1/4 mile up river from Sedro Wooley River front park..
