Coho Salmon

Hit my favorite spot this morning, and to my great surprise there were lots of fish there. I thought it would be a killer day, but I ended up only going 2 for 3. One big fish on a copper spoon, which got off near the bank, a little jack, and a nice chrome 5 or 6 pounder. The latter two caught on the lure in the picture. Maybe some rain will help get the fish in more of a biting mood.

Almost looks like a wicked lure. Homemade?

I really like micro squid in UV colors... a small blade or smile blade(s)... bang! (usually) Black, pink, or chartruese. 5ft leader with a six inch dropper. Rocky Mt. Tackle super squid are great... that's how I first discovered using these... I busted one out of the kokanee box one day when the bite was off and ended up catching a limit. Cut off the little hooks and put a #1 single with an extra bead. I filled a punch card on these last year... and they are a great way to fish coho when the river is full of old humpies that eat dick nites.

Glad to here you found some biters. The few that I have seen in there lately refuse to bite anything I have offered. Sounds like you found a fresh pod of the biting run. multiple fish with multiple offerings is a good sign!
