Tough day on the river - didn't see a single coho caught or even jump. Every boat I asked that came by said the same thing.

I tried a vibrax, corky/yarn and finally a 'frog' Dick Nite (spotted green and white). and caught a beauty of a dolly varden. I had to pinch the barb to get the hook out but it seemed pretty un-phased (it was very patient while I was removing the hook) and swam off as soon as I put it back in the water.

Where did the coho go? Hoping the rain tomorrow brings them back in!

so i'm curious why you would take the additional time to take a picture of a fish clearly out of water when you had to spend extra time just getting the hook out when you are planning on returning it to the water. seems like poor etiquette to me. am i missing something?

Sorry - I never read the book on fishing etiquette photography.
There's an old saying: "A photo is worth a thousand words" - this was just easier than writing a thousand words

might try the book called WDFW Fishing Regulations. not trying to be an ass but why give the fish any more trauma than it needs if you plan on releasing it. out of water, 2 hands on a fish seems a bit much.
