Very little rain in the morning. Started fishing around 8 am and saw guys with steelhead on the hook. 5 casts in, boom goes the dynamite. This is my first steelhead, and first official catch off the snohomish systems. Fish were biting now and then, no one caught limit, and I left at 11. Damn, I've caught pinks, and coho, but nothing yet that ran or fought like this beauty. 15#s, making a cure with her eggs. Ran a 1/8oz blood red jig under a float, about 6' between hook and float. She hit about 40 feet from the bank. Crack Rock.

Beauty, but that would be unusually large. I got a 28" fish this week that was 8 lbs, yours may be a bit longer but some of the experts on here can comment on length to weight -who cares though, that is great you got # 1, hope you get a lot more!

Great looking fish! I was wondering when the first successful Reiter report would turn up for the winter season. Escapement reports are still low for Reiter, so great job on getting that fish!

good job on the first but I think the excitement may have bumped the weight up 7 or 9 lbs, regardless nice fish

Way to go Catchabuz! Those steelies really put up a fight don't they! Yours could be 15LBs... When in doubt, always good to size up.
As a reference, earlier in the year I had a bonus day with 28" and 31" trout that weighed 8lbs and 10 lbs. That is right on scale with Bank drifter's report. Great catch and a beautiful fish!

Looks awesome! I'm heading to Canada on Sunday for a week but if there's still no skiing when I get back, Reiter is at the top of my to-do list!
P.S. Why yo eyes so red? (jk)
