I told myself I was going to catch my first Steelhead this winter and today was the day!! Bobber down and once I set the hook panic set in and I didn't give that fish the slightest bit of leeway. Wanted her on the bank so bad the fight probably lasted a little over 30 seconds! Can't wait for what the rest of the season has in store

congrats on first steelhead.I got my first when I was 7.Caught it by hand in a small creek that didn't have enough water to cover its back.
Sure if I did that today I'd get my butt reamed by everyone on here, but to a kid it was the thrill of a lifetime.Actually I did several years ago on the spillway of the lower elwah dam,but I turned it loose in the river.Hope you have an excellent year and many more.

Congratulations, denhambruce! Looks like tossing around that peach colored jig finally paid off. I remember the mouth of Tokul, my first trip out Steelheading, armed with an 1/8th ounce float and a pink and white Beau Mac jig. 20 minutes later, I was leaving with my first Steelhead, plus 1; I was hooked. Wishing you a successful season, my friend. Tight lines

Thank you for the recognition, that peach jig has since been retired in the hall of fame!
