Hey WL,

Went out just upstream of the Tolt/Snoqualmie confluence. Water was in pretty good shape and I had high hopes. Fished from about 10AM-1PM. I was swinging every steelhead fly I had, didn't even manage a bite. Saw a few rises on the other side of the river, but too difficult to access. It was raining the whole time and the river rose probably a foot and a half in a few hours.

Very humbling, yet enjoyable experience. Looking forward to the rivers to drop again so I can hook into my first Steelie. If anybody has any advice on where to fish this river I would greatly appreciate it. I'm from Bellingham and mostly fish high mountain trout streams, I finally got a heavier rod to target steelhead/salmon and will be around this area for a couple of weeks and would really like to get a Snoqualmie steelhead!

Thanks,

cedar12

A good place to fly fish the Sno is by the Snoqualmie Golf course. You can park there and walk up river to several spots, if the river
is not to high.

Sometimes there is a definite water color line at the Tolt-Snoqualmie confluence. I used to do well casting sand shrimp and drifting that color line.

Does anyone know if fisherman are allowed to park in the golf course parking lot and walk in? Do you have to get permission?
I fished that bend in a drift boat before would be great place to shore fish, just not sure how else to get there.
thanks
