Went down to the River on Sunday.. just a few of us there... anticipated rain, but nothing fell. Fly fished using a TFO 9wt... Threw everything I had in my fly box... for hours... nothing... got hung up a few times and lost a bunch of flies. Then switched to a black whooly... threw it a few times and BLAM!!! then I thought I was hung on some rocks... then... the pole began to vibrate... then it was on!! 10 minutes of fight got him right up on shore... then made the fatal mistake... I grabbed the line... this fish shook like hell... *Snap*.. off he went... with my fly! Estimate he was around 15lbs. Bottom line it was a good day... River was running clear and low... fish were easy to spot... though they were not really biting a lot. Overcast most of the day with a few sunny breaks.
