Fished from 9am-2pm. There are a ton of Walleye fisherman chasing fish up the Palouse with varying results. We fished the shallow 1.5-3 foot waters at the mouth for Channels and got bit using cut bait and dip bait. The cut bait was better and looking at the pic, I think you can see why. The largest fish (pox albs) was munching on his dinner before he picked up the dessert I presented. We landed 8 fish between the 3 of us. I imagine that the bite will only improve over the next 2 months.

I miss fishing for channels. Not a lot of good spots over here on the west side of WA.

Are you running a prop or a jet?

Curious, what kind of fish was the one halfway inside the cat?

@sinkerswim - I'm running a Prop. There's plenty of water as long as you stick to the channel across that bay.

@gregsalmon- I suspect is a pike minnow. I didn't try do remove it as I was doing catch and release.

Thanks for the info on that. Hoping to head over soon. Will take note of the current level :)

The trick is to stay on the left side of the bay then slowly cut across. The water will taper to about 2 feet before finding the main channel of the river again.

Fine fat Blue you got there Jose! What type of cut bait were you using? I'm heading over there on May 4th and spend a couple days.

I was using fresh pike minnow that I caught the day before. I also used secret seven dip bait. Over the weekend they were both equally successful.

Channel Catfish have a forked tail. They loose their spots as they age. The color can vary depending on diet, age, water clarity, etc...
