Today was a perfect way to spend the last day of my staycation before returning to work. The sun was shining and there wasn't a ton of people since the number of fish has dwendled over the last week. Had to take one last swing at another springer and it paid off with a personal best 22.2 lb hatchery hen. Same offering as last trip a 50/50 Dick nite but this time in green and chrome. Started off catching a ton of baby Chinook until a little thump started peeling line. I'd gain some ground and then it would take off again. I knew I had a decent size fish but it wasn't until she got tired of fighting that I finally got a glimpse of how massive she really was. Even though I only caught one keeper it would have been a 5 rating had I not lost 5 spoons on all the fishing line from people getting snagged.

Awesome fish man, and that is really cool that you are getting them on Dick Nites. Everyone down there seems to fish massive jigs or massive pieces of bait. Sorry about losing so many spoons though, I definitely know how that goes down there. Just curious, were you fishing the main pool, or a little bit lower? I am interested in giving your Dick Nite strategy a try.

Saw you there that day with that hog of a hen on your stringer, AWSOME springer. Appreciate the report when I saw you, very informative.I had my bro with me that day, trying to give him some pointers on how to fish with bobber and bait.Wish we had the results you had.,but knowing fish was there rolling all day kept us motivated.I noticed you fished your lures down close to the deck, did you ever very your retrieve, fished higher in the water colume.,was nice to meet a fellow Wa/laker,saw your other post of your other springer conquest prior to that one,Impressive.

It was nice meeting you Cloudy, I only had to switch up my retrieve towards the end of the out flow seam since it got shallow in a few spots. Let the Dick Nite do the rest towards the middle of the water column. After I hit bottom I kept it about 4' from the bottom due to the amount of lead I was throwing.
