Again this a 6 month late report as I'm new to this site. This was my other great day on the Snoqualmie river. This was my first steelhead on this river. I was trying to avoid the crowds at the big eddy and down at fall city so I drove up SE David Powel road. I pulled of to a small little beach spot right off the road. This spot is us down river and opposite side of where everyone fishes big eddy. This was pretty fast moving water except about a 10ft wide by 30ft long slow spot right off this little beach. Looked like a great resting area. I tried everything . Was about to head out when i reached for a hot pink wee duck nite. Castes out and let it drift down with the current then started a super slow retrieve and slammed my pole so hard. I was not using the greatest pole so it was a crazy fight. In the photo the fish looks dark but it really wasn't too bad. Hope next winter is a good return as well
