I checked out a potential access spot, but saw a sign saying spot was for club members only. There is an obvious large gravel parking area on the south side of the road. Sign at gate was faded and old so not sure if that still applies, but I've been fishing downstream at the pullouts area and Rotary. Saw a damn sea lion tonight!

8/10/2015 5:52:00 PMI rig mine with two to three feet of 8 lb max ultragreen leader tied to an inline weight like you use in float fishing. Typically, I will use the quarter ounce size. Tie that you your mainline. I like this for slower water and casting and retrieving.
You could also rig it like fixed lead drift fishing and drift it if there is enough current. Others have actually drifted these lures under a float. I've never tried this though.
Change out the hook. It's crap. I put on a good gamakatsu siwash hook. Size 6 for size 2 nites, size 8 for size 1 and for the smallest ones, size 10.
