Well, I tried. Went to the skagit at first light and fished the sand bar at gardner launch. 3 hours and 10 guys near me scratching their heads. Saw 2 fish roll the whole time. No bites. Got a tip from a fellow fisherman that he had luck at the "spudhouse?" I think thats what he called it. Went there and drowned some shrimp for an hour. NO FISH! More headscratching. Was getting lots of nibbles from what I suspect were sculpins :/ Guess its still early....

thats alot of chompin at the bit, to catch some dog food. my two love canned pinks! a real money saver. mix some with some rice. i do sometimes, when my copboards are empty, toss a jar for some tuna helper. pinks are so bland. but, they are entertainment, thats for sure! especially on a trout rod, which i often use in the rivers.

I dont believe I stated anywhere that I was looking for food "doc"? I like to use my sons spider-man pole when I take him with me in the boat for pinks. But looks like I wont be using the light gear this year, not a good idea if I'm catching and releasing with the warm water. I scout rivers early because hes pretty excited when the time comes. Its great entertainment and practice for the kids to be catching a salmon from the river consistently to keep their attention. Hes almost 5 now. Loves it....
