hey all. hit the green for about 80 mins this evening. fishing was interesting and great all at the same time. got there around 4:40 and left at 6. hooked all fish on pink jigs. first hookup was a coho, good size. but lost him. i could see him perfectly before he spit the hook. i hate that. after that i walked down the shore a little and jumped on about knee deep on the waders. put on my pink jig and second cast, big old buck. forgot my net so i had to get creative. waded out a little more and pinned him against the steep bank when i got him in after a good 3 or 4 minute fight. then i missed one on the next cast. cast after that he bit again. landed him too. smaller but not bad. bite died after that. all in all a great day of fishing for me. i am 16 and still have so much to learn about pinks. i always love getting some salmon for the smoker. can't wait for another river lesson next time.
