Went fishing for a few hours in the evening in Kent. Caught one short of a limit. First fish was caught on a small dick nite sized pink spoon. The rest of the fish were hooked jigging 1/8 - 1/4oz. pink jigs. Lost 1 other fish on a spoon trying to play him a little. It was fun watching the salmon dart at the rigs...One bolted heading downriver and just did a drive by. It's been a while since hooking fish while jigging...At first I thought I hit bottom...then you pull a little more and feel a head shake...All fish were hooked in the corner of the mouth. Loved it. Even an 18" leader was catching fish. Great time out with the girlfriend. She got some practice netting and did an awesome job. Brought the float rod along as well but not enough current to float the jig down the seam. Perfect little eddy where we were fishing...Tons of surface activity. Looking forward to the Silvers but for now bring on the pinks :) Couple biggest ones were about 4lbs. Smallest about 2lbs...All in total went 5 for 7 and had a couple more bumps I missed. Went home with 1 hen and 4 bucks. All in all a great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday.
