Let start about by saying this would of been a 5 but unfortunately my buddy's brother flew 1900 miles to try to hook in to a salmon, but after 3 days of trying not a single hook up.
Got to the parking lot about 0445 and to my surprise it was already packed but luckily I got a spot. After getting all gear up headed down to the river to wade past everyone so I could have some elbow room. And I'm not the one to invade someone's space or hole. Well got to my spot around 0530 waited for first light to come up. But heard that you can start an hour before sunrise? I was not sure so I waited better safe than sorry. After about an hour watching multiple people yanking and pulling you know what I mean. I got a decent take down. Fought it for about 15 minutes I'm not the one to come down there is 50# plus braided or mono line so I can just reel them in, I like the feel of the fight so I use 12# mono line. And that's why I walk away from people cause I know people get upset down there if you fight your fish too long. Anyways after the battle, it was a nice 21# chrome hen. So on the catch card she goes. After about another hour or so was time to call it quits.
** walking back picked up trash and multiple rigs people just threw on the bank with the hooks still on them, and I don't get what people are trying to hook with halibut size hooks out there. Oh and if people are fighting fish get out of the way and give common courtesy to give their spot back. You know who you are. **
Well tight lines to all have a great fishing year!!!!!
