Arrived at the river at daybreak. I fished below Cadman in Monroe off of the island on 177nd.(prison hole) Upstream from the old Hansen farm. There was a steady stream of pinks next to the rocky beach as I could see them next to the shore. They seemed to be in a hurry as they were not interested in any offering of bait at this location. I switched to a pink jig and let it bounce off the bottom with a slow retrieve. I used a spit shot about 3 feet up from the jig. This tactic worked well until I lost several jigs. I decided to move above the tail-out in the slower water. I changed to a float with a 1/4 0z. pink and white shad dart with a bit of prawn. That kept me busy with the pinks for a hour or so. All of these fish have been in the river for awhile as they were sporting their fall colors. I would recommend this location as there are lots of fish and at least a mile of walkable river front. You can also walk down from the Lewis Street launch too. Tight Lines. Sky
