Fished the Nooksack this morning since it was a short walk through the back yard to the river. This was the first time I have tried fishing a river. I had read a few things about what would be good to bring with me. I didn't save any eggs yet from the fish I got in the salt, so I just used spinners and dick nite spoons. I had one small juvinal follow my spinner back to shore, but that was it. Otherwise saw a decaying fish in the water. It looked like it had net marks just behind its gills, so not sure if it made it to spawn or not. It wasn't very dark at all. I will be back a few times in the coming months with all the holidays approaching and see if I can have better luck.

That looks like a choked fish to me. Seen a couple myself. Its dismal that they let people leave their nets unattended. It's such unethical fishing in every way, regardless of the politics behind it. Many fish get wasted that way. Sad, sad stuff.
