Well we braved the rain to do the Barrier to Blue creek float in the drift boat with my buddy Brandon who had a couple days off from the Army. It started out pretty sloppy wet, but we weren't deterred. After putting in at Barrier we were one of two boats at the launch. Decided to float some eggs under floats and maybe back troll some wrapped Brads K15's. Headed down to a spot and fished for a while with no success then kept drifting down to a couple of holes above Baker Rock. I had fished this particular hole without much success in the past. We worked it over with eggs under floats without a bite. Switched over to a twitching jig and hooked-up an old king we let go. Was about to leave, but decided to put the K15's in and work the tail out, that's when the fun started. Picked up two fish in the tail out that gave us some fun. Then headed down the river. We only encounter one other boat anchored up the rest of the way down to Blue Creek. Ran K15's through several other holes with good success and landed four more aggressive King's, most were natives we let go. All in all one of my best days on my drift boat on this river. I attribute our success to the lack of traffic on the river that day.
