Headed to the soccer fields in kent this morning. Got on the water a little after 7am. One guy there had a hook up but didn't stick. About 30 minutes throwing an all brass blue fox I thought I snagged, line just stopped. Gave a couple of tugs and then she exploded out of the water, took me a few seconds to register she was on my line. Didn't make any big runs, but several jumps and rolls, then as I got her close to shore some real violent death rolls. Once I could see it was a hatchery fish, I got her up on shore and gave her a bonk.
I am still a relative newb to the rivers, started late in the 2014 season, then all of last year, this was my first catch when not out with a guide. Extra sweet that it is on the green and so close to home.
Went back after noon, and nothing was rolling and nobody had seen anything else caught, though when I waded around the bend I found about 3-4 fish worth of eggs, some in the water and some on shore, seemed like a waste to me.
