Fished my hole yesterday and Tuesday. On Tuesday, after trying everything else, I put on an old size 4 brass Mepps Aglia spinner with the yellow/red body. Moved up the hole a bit and after the third cast, slam! Fish on!! After a short, but spirited fight, I got the 6 lb buck in. Good condition...just a hint of color starting to show.

Yesterday, I stayed with the Mepps mentioned above and missed a strike on the second cast. On the 4th cast, I connected! This time a bright hen was beached after a few minutes. Fished few more minutes and then went home to process my catch. Good start to the season for me. Last year, did no good at all for coho.

Well, my spot is private property. But I will say try around Lewis street bridge and the park has shoreline access. You can also cross the bridge and fish around the bridge and downstream. Sultan would be another good spot too and it might pay to explore pullouts along Ben Howard road.. Do try using the spinner I mentioned. For some reason, they like that one. Other times, I've had good luck with size 15 red panther martin with a gold blade. Also, kelly green or orange vibraxes (size 4).
