Well gave it a try after the opened the my home rivers and was pretty upset about how many snaggers there are. Tossing jigs like the samish and letting in set and then saying"got a bite" and then they rip their lines. I don't get it when bait and stuff fish bite works way better than snagging. Anyway floated some eggs and went 5/7 with 3 coho, 1 king, and 1 giant dolly. Hopefully more people learn some fishing etiquette, tight lines.

Nice, always sorry to hear about snaggers though. How big do you think the Dolly was?

Probably around 2-3lbs, I know there are some 6-7lbers but that was the biggest I've caught.

What do you mean tossing jigs like the Samish???

Throwing a jig out and letting it sit on the bottom, waiting for a fish to run into the line then setting the hook lol.

Those are some healthy body coho! They so botched the return this year. Barkley Sound was FULL of huge fat coho in late August--have never seen so many, so fat, so soon. I knew then, our runs would be strong (and, they are). Nice job!

Here ya go Tonto, the ugly truth about The Samish. It's a five year old article, but nothing has changed. Selfish, deplorable fisherman.

in 2010 i watched from the other side of wallace river as 1 guy threw a hook into a deep pool and a 2nd guy stood on the railroad tressel and told him where to throw. after about an hour 1 was snagged , they noticed me taking a picture of them and stopped their celebration . They scurried off like two bandits in the night, i coincidentally lost one right by the bank about 2 hours later. It sucked losing the fish ,but seeing the 2 idiots celebrate the snagging hurt more.

Hey man I'm an avid fly fishermen and whenever it's necessary that I need to use my bait caster I only fish jigs I tie myself and unfortunately I know there are a lot of people who do not know how to properly twitch but as being someone who knows how to I'd like to say if done properly you will hardly ever snag. I'll admit to have accidentally foul hooking a couple but I foul hook literally 1 fish to every 25. As an advocate for using barbless hooks its easy for me to allow the fish to shake the hook .Just keep in mind twitchers aren't all snaggers. >:D

chase4catcher1329 what hes talking about is a 2oz+ halibut jig that they cast out and let sit on the bottom, when a fish hit their line they swing as hard as they can and hope it ends up somewhere near the mouth, not twitching small jigs like youre talking about
