I found this little pond off I-90 by accident when i was looking for lake access to local lake. I thought it looked like a good pond to catch some little crackers, but boy was I surprised when that first 12" brook trout hit my size 18 adams. After that, it was like shooting brookies in a barrel. One after another, some big, some small. These fish hit anything that was unfortunate enough to fall on the water all day long! Every once in a while I would drop a gold ribbed hares ear under a foam hopper, and blammo! I had water fill my waders a couple of times, though. It's one of those ponds that looks about 8" deep, but after you step through that little layer of floating mud, it's about hip level. Beautiful place, though. As I fished, a whole herd of elk came walking through, on numerous occasions. I was thinking about trying to find a fishing buddy to take with me, send me a note if you think you're worthy of the challenge. yakshakflyshop@pop.bizland.com
