Hello gang !!! The man with a fishy attitude is back ! Still gong strong
fishin almost every weekend and maintaining vital relationships with my
family and friends !!!
Goodtime to be a fisherman again with various openers coming up !

Opening day has been a tradition since I was a wee lad and over the years
there have been many sleepless nights for various reasons and some classic
fishing moments. I could write a book alone on my opening day antics !!!
But today's outing was extra special ! I was with my 6 year old son Stevie
Reye who I am now passing this legendary Cabanday tradition of Fishing the
Trout Opener come hell or high water. My legacy will be my Passionate love
for the Outdoors/Fishing. I get irate when I see kids zoned out on video
games and TV. Kill your TV !!! Go Outside life is too short enjoy God's
Paradise and take a kid fishing !!!

So the day begins with my game plan of fishing the opener early. But, my son
says he doesn't want to go I am heart broken so I head of to work on my golf
game. I come back from the range and he says " hey dad I thought we were
going fishing !" I am pumped ! Renewed with exuberant youthful attitude
I rifle thru all my gear and scurry together everything known to man to go
after our Target Species - Rainbow Trout ,.Both stocked Triploids and
Holdovers from ths mild winter. I call my good fishing buddy Fred Jones and
he gives me the thumbs up to go a fishing his Zipper Head Lake *.

We launch off in a 7' Livingston powered by an electric motor. Actually felt
nice to be above water for once since I got soaked last week in my float
tube. We are greeted by Sunshine, Ducks and active fish feeding on the
surface !!!! Lines are out. Steven with a Chrome F5 flatfish with the deadly
wiggle on the surface and Daddy "O" with a Sink TIp with the now infamous
"Olive Willie".

FISH-ON !!!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep the pressure on Steven !!!
Little Stevie reels it in like a champion sportfisher in fine form which
would make any Salty Skipper proud. I was beaming with pride !!!
High Fives to my son Steven !!! This process repeated it self numerous
times .

I wont mention how many fish we farmed (lost). Oh man I lost a Hawg that
Steven hooked it was Definitely a Turbo Charged Trout on Steroids !!! This
Rainbow (No not you Jean !) thought it was a 1000 lb Swordfish . Anyways, We
finally get the monster to the boat and I try hand lining it POP !!!!!!!!!!!
splash ... AAAAAAAAAAArgh !!! And the Peanut Gallery who witnessed our
Fishing antics says to me he " aint it a bummer you can't catch 'em all "
!!! I replied Yeah aint it a pity !!! Get the lines out and we are all
s***s and giggles again because another Jumbo nails Steven's F5 Chrome
Flatfish firmly hooked to the another Jumbo leaping the surface..

* - Due to the sensitivity of the location of this lake I will have to refer
to this lake as Zipper Head Lake. Steven and I had the lake all to ourselves
!!! All the hardcore God awful early risers would be in shock that I didn't
even hit the water till 2:00 in the afternoon I slept in .

Fish-on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not about having what you want, its wanting what you have ...Gonna soak
up the sun ....
