Everyone that does a lot of exploring will eventually find a lake fishery that is too good to share with anyone except very special fishing buddies. The lake doesn't have to be a small lake hidden deep in the back woods either. My secret lake is quite large and has public access. The bass fishing is absolutely fantastic. You can see the large bass swimming around in shallow clear water. Most of the fish are between 3 1/2 pounds and 4 1/2 pounds. I suppose bigger fish are available. Once the fish see you, they will not play any games with lures no matter how enticingly they are presented. However, long cast with floating lures will often result in an exciting surface strike and hookup. You have the enjoyment of seeing all the under water action as you play your fish. As far as I know, no other basser fishes this lake. I would like to share this information but probably many of these beautiful fish would wind up on a filleting table. The moral of this story is get out and explore on your own and eventually you too will find some lake that is too special to share with anyone except special fishing buddies.
