Went fishing at lunchtime. First cast and I hooked a nice bass, probably between 4 and 5 pounds… but it escaped, and bent the hook. I was using a small hook; appropriate for the bass I normally catch there, just about one pound maximum. So I changed to a stronger hook and an eight-inch black with blue flakes Senko. It did not come back. After a while I started the other side of the pier, and had a byte… missed, it was a normal small bass and the bait was too big. But before I could think about changing back the hook, I saw a swell in the cove, and send the lure into it. The moment the bait landed, the bass exploded. This time I had a good hook and I landed it… woo, it was seven pounds! No more bytes and soon I had to go back to work, but two nice bass in little less than one our, it made my day. The bass went back to water, to fight again next time.
