First of all, this lake is located to the left of US-12 if going down White Pass towards Packwood. It is only 2 miles down from White Pass and is crystal clear with a stream coming into it. There is a parking lot with good trail access to the lake, HOWEVER, the bridge over the deep, rapid creek is washed out, making access very hard. My buddy and I bushed wacked our way to the lake through heavy brush and snags. WATCH THE ROD TIPS! Once at the lake, we fished the streal outlet into the lake. The lake is very deep and holds native Brown Trout and Brooke trout. We used worm and bobber 15 feet down, no luck at all. One bump only. I switched to my panther martin and after 3 casts, I was slammed by a 13 inch, native Brooke Trout in full color. This fish was beginning to spawn as it had a hooked nose, and bright colors. I saw a few other fish following my lure, but no other hook ups. GREAT lake, will be back again. TIGHT LINES!
