This won't be a Secret, you can figure it out, but I doubt it will get crowded anyway!
It is in Idaho, a very, very, very long drive and a short hike, or horse pack in from anywhere.
Brookies. Nice ones you would not expect at a lake of this size or altitude. Lots of heart too...fought like an American Revolutionist! Just would not give up.
I tried everything. Nymphs, Drys, Emergers. Fast, slow, twitching, dead, etc. Floating line, sinking line, etc, etc. Finally...Black beadhead Wooly Bugger, size 12. They would take it on the sink. If they hadn't hit it within 5 seconds of it hitting the water, I could forget it and try again. If you get up there, go early in the day. The hike out to my rig was stifling HOT by the time I left, just after noon at 12:30 p.m.
500 feet up was all, in a a short mile, but the granite reflected soooo much heat. Recent fire meant shade was hard to find also.
Good luck to all.
