OK, not really a secret lake report, we need to enter this lake into the data base. I was curious to fish Phantom as it is less than 15 minutes from my house. Didn't have much time to fish, just an hour or so. A few observations. The walkway to the launch area is about 100 yards, not bad but next time I won't bring four poles (kinda hard to fish out of a tube with four poles anyway). The launch is a small area to the right of the fishing pier. Easy in/out access. The channel narrows just before breaking into the lake but is pass-able. The lake itself is stained and bassy as all get out. There have got to be some nice fish in here! Lots of lilly pads and more developed than I expected. A lot of the piers are older and again look like great bass habitat. The lake feels bigger than I expected. I managed to get halfway around it. Will definitely want to try it again some time. Had a few nips at my senkos, nothing on surface frog or rapala. I wish I could get my pontoon in to this lake but the channel just is too narrow, I think. Anyway, a nice relaxing hour of fishing.

Hey Mike, it's easier to just walk your pontoon in on the left side of the main fishing dock. Good luck!

Hey Mike, I fished this little lake from a canoe a couple times back in the 1980s. I loved it -- And like you say, it all looks very bassy. I did catch a few bass on Rapalas but nothing big. My personal record there is only a 14 1/2 inch, 1 pound, 12 ounce bass. Getting too old to carry the canoe and live too far away to fish it now but I am glad I did have the opportunity to fish it. The good memories are still vivid. I would recommend it to any bass man with a hand carried water craft that likes to explore new lakes. And -- the fish I caught were released and if they are still alive they should be lunkers.
