Hiked into this 2800' lake at around 2:30pm. I was surprised to see about 10 other people camping on it, and 2-3 of them fishing on this small lake. I had 2 of the 3 largest brook trout I have caught, hooked on an old orange blue fox spinner. (size 0) The other was caught on a Gitzit spinner, approx. the same size hook and color scheme (small fry spinner?). ...now it's in a half sunken log. I had 2 other hard strikes and chasers that didn't hook up. It was sunny/overcast and in the 70's up there. Only fished for a few hours, because of the time consuming hike and drive home. It was back in the mid 80's at the trailhead. I had a great time and easily released the beautiful fish. I will be back. Hint: the water is clear/green.
