It had been a while since I wet a line, so I headed to my "secret lake" to catch some Largemouth. As always, the lake completely paid off. I caught and released six nice largemouths in total. The attached pictures are of the two biggest 'hogs.' They're weight was four 4 pounds 1 ounce (my new personal best) and 3 pounds 12 ounces. The other four ranged from a pound and a half to two and a half pounds. I fished from approximately 10:30 am until 1:30 pm. I tried double tailed hula grubs and spinner baits, which did not prove successful at all. The magical lure was a 5 inch single tail watermelon seed (color) grub attached to a 1/4 ounce black jig head. It felt so good to finally get out and have a bass make my reel sing as it stripped line off. Excellent day!
