5/11/2008 10:02:00 PMAs far as what made that explosion on the water. I can only imagine how big that fish could be. At least we know where she is. :)

5/24/2008 8:55:00 AMNever read about this article, sounds like you have a gem of a place too. My other big bass lake use to have a beaver in it until the coyotes dug through the top of his lodge or he never got a mate in there and left, don't know for sure. All I know is that they produce an area for big bass. When water level gets down enough at this lake you can walk in front of the lodge and when the beaver was still in the pond I did just that and had the crap scared out of me when I was walking by the entrance. Didn't know if he or she was in there or not when I started to go by the entrance just thought to myself please don't come out when I pass by but, that is exactly what the beaver did and it swam right at me like a big bass coming at your bait with wake surge like a torpedo. Scared the crap out of me passed right by my thigh in chest deep water, jumped like crazy as I saw it go by my leg thought it was going to bite me but didn,t then my dog got wind of what was going on and started chase but she couldn't catch it and sometimes it was like the beaver was playing with her, going under just before she would catch up only to pop up right next to her as if to say NA na na na na you can't catch me, it was funny, sorry to see it leave the lake because it would take down willows that are taking over shoreline. Nowthough this year a turtle has gotten into the lake since it was built, don't think it will mess with the fish population which is good all kinds of sizes of fish which is probably why the big bass are so plentiful. Only hope others do not discover this place it has been good for me for years and want to continue fishing it. A guy I met while fishing there lets me park my car in his driveway as not to draw attention that someone is there, we talk just about every time I go and he has yet to go himself and I keep telling him he is missing some good times. Well enough of that, Tight lines Bro! By the way had that beaver slap the water next to me a couple of times and scared the crap out of me!
