Went to the bass pond I used to fish with a buddy when I was a kid to see if there were any fish still there. And the answer turned out to be yes. It only covers a few acres and has a max depth of 5-6ft. It only holds LMB. No blue gill, no perch, just bass. Caught a few small guys along with a couple in the 1-2lb. range. Only had batteries for pics of one of the pounders. Oops! Anyway, it's very difficult fishing because about 95% of the pond is covered by lilly pads and weeds. So weedless gear is a must. I mostly use a plastic worm rigged weedless. In the thinner stuff I can get away with a spinner-bait. Unfortunately the lunkers are out where they can't be reached from shore. I saw quite a few out there in the 5lb.+ range. Definitely have to get to them by boat or raft. My buddy and I are going to try it in his12' aluminum next time. Even though we'll have to carry it over 100yds. Plus the fish there have never seen a boat before. But I think it'll be worth it. I'll post more pics if I catch anything worth showing off. Fish on!
