Fished Red Lake with my Wife, Parents from Florida, and my son for the first time! ( He is 11 days old, 10 days old on the day of the fishing trip) He caught a few lunkers (just kidding) but we did do relatively well. My dad caught a number of small bass, and sunfish on a bobber and nightcrawler. I used a small rapala with a small largemouth on the first cast, and after no more luck, used a 5" powerbait motor oil worm on the top without weight. I got several back to back strikes, but they were only hitting the tail, so I added a weight, bumped through the weeds, and caught quite a few largemouths. Nothing huge, but quite a few in the 1 lb range.

I have heard there is a number of big catfish and HUGE bass in the lake - anyone have any experience on this lake?

I've caught a ton off bass out of it, but never a catfish, or anything over 2 lbs.
