Went to Big Bass Pond I call it for first time this yerar and this place did not disappoint me again, First of seven was an easy 3 lber, same with other 5, one maybe 4. All caught next to shore in maybe six foot of water at the most.. All the Bass were on cover that I put in pond since there is no bottom cover at all except weeds which are just now getting green off the bottom. Had to make several cast sometimes on the trees, sometimes first cast sometime the fifth cast, just depended on where the fish was holding on the cover. Every hit felt like I had snagged up but as soon as the line would move I knew it was a fish. Not very many jumps out of them once hooked, still think the water is a little cold, but fish are telling me different because easily the females which is all I caught were all full of eggs, marks on them like the males have been harassing them, but did not catch a single male of for that matter anything under 3 lbs. Did not really hit the banks as hard as I should but did not really want to ither as I did not want to disturb the spawners already moved up some limited the fishing some, Still was bkessed with another big Bass day as far as I am concerned and am looking forward to the rest of the season. You guys fishing drop shots all the time on American and other lakes got me interested in it so bought a Carrot Stick Rod for drop shot and it worked great for just throwing a rubber worm with split shot, felt every branch and rock that I hit, really sensitive, great rod now know what you guys are talking about with the sensitivity. I was setting the hook on rocks thinking they were Bass that how sensitive it was, still will take some getting use to I guess. Other than that I did lose one nice Bass was not really ready for pick up then by the time I was I think she was already had it spit out cause by the time I pulled slack she was gone and I had the worm whizzing by my head from the late hookset. So tight lines, pratice catch and release at least on the big ones so they can produce your future fishing and eat the littlier ones if they are plentiful besides better tasting then the older fish. And may God Bless You'll fisherman that you'll may be blessed with the same fishing as I have on any lake.
