Hit up a local private pond that I have access to. My motor is in the shop right now, so it was just a float tube adventure. Got in the water around 10am, and left around 1pm. Its a nice little pond, and with the sun we had yesterday morning, it was nice to be out on the water alone. I got a bite about 1/2 hour in, but it was just a nibbler, and the fish didnt take the green senko I was using. Worked all the way around the pond, then headed back across to the same area as the previous bite, and this time using a purple senko, I got another bite. This time the fish nipped it once, I waited, then nipped it again. I tried to do a light hook set to see if the bastard had taken it, but to no avail. About seconds passed, and the fish came up to the surface as I was reeling in and swiped at the surface of the water. Looked about a pound or so. That was it for this short trip. Although I didnt land anything, it was nice to get out there and test out my new baitcaster. I kept it from spooling most of the time, and finally am getting the hang of it.
