Fished an old favorite today, quite a drive but well worth it. Went after kokanee and got a mixed bag of kokes and big triploids. Kept one trip that was 2lbs and released another that was probably over 3lbs easy. Both trips put up a great fight, took a couple screaming runs on super ultralight kokanee gear. Fished 2 rods both down 20' on the DR. One was a Weddingring/Dodger combo the other was a Sz 1 Needlefish in Clown color. Key to keeping the small trout off the hook was to fish ONLY shoepeg corn and no meat or GULP products. If you added GULP products or worms/maggots the little ones wouldn't leave it alone. C&R'ed 2 small ones before figuring this out. Trout and 1 Koke taken on bait, the other 3 Kokanee taken on the needlefish. Kokanee put up a hell of a fight when they are over a pound (all pictured were over 1 lb). On the water at 8:00am off the water by 10:00am with a nice limit. Don't know what else to say other than it is a SECRET!
