A friend and I arrived at a little lake we like to frequent at about 6am. It was a beautiful calm morning though by noon clouds and wind had moved in. Last week I hooked up on the first cast, but today it took three, a nice 2.5 lber. My buddy then picked up 3 fish in the next 15 minutes. A black 5" swim senko was the trick this day. Most strikes came on the retrive, a couple top water smashes to keep things
exciting. We saw some big fish on beds but they were extra skittish, bolting from anything tossed to them.
So, we landed no whoppers but a good number in the 2 lb range. I finished the day with 8 fish to his 18! Another boat with us pulled in 12 fish that morning also, but none over 3 lbs. Another week or two and this place should be on fire, not uncommon to pull a couple 4 or 5 pounders out of here. They always go back in to be caught another day.
