Thanks for your reports btw, I love southern fishin. The fish you have there is more than likely a snake head. They are highly invasive fish native to africa and asia. They can also breath air making them tolerant of low O2 water, and can also crawl across land to get to different water. I would definitely contact your local fish and wildlife and let them know, these fish spread fast and can wipe out entire ecosystems.

nvm, not a snake head. sorry, it is actually a bowfin. A native fish but also a very voracious fish like the snakefin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowfin

definitely a bowfin, some people call them mudfish or even dogfish. i'm not gonna ask where exactly you caught it but i'm curious if this was actually in washington. these species is definitely not native here. if you're fishing a private pond, they may have illegally stocked them.

Relax folks, coast2coastfishin has relocated and is now fishing in Arkansas. Sure is neat to see the different species of fish that are available outside of our State.
