Targeted Walleyes for 4 days. At least that was the plan.

Got there Friday at 5pm and trolled from Lincoln boat ramp to Sterling Point where we were camping. Tough trolling because there are so many cliffs but where I could find a steady break line I did troll various crank baits. Didn't matter what crank, it caught Smallmouth after Smallmouth ranging from 6 inches to 10 inches.

Fished off Sterling Point where at night I have done well for really small walleyes. Started about an hour before dark and before dark I bet I caught 50 smallmouth. It was just nuts. You couldn't throw anything out there that the bass didn't want as seen in the pic.

Saturday spent most of the day taking the kids out on the wave runner and ski boat owned by my brother in law. Went fishing a little bit Saturday evening. Found fish suspended at 35 feet in 75 feet of water. Pulled a deep diving 30FT tail dancer through there and the pic is what it produced. a 6 inch fire tiger tail dancer caught a 8 inch smallmouth suspended at 35 feet. This might be the most eager fish in American History.

Sunday was my only real day that I got to go serious walleye fishing. I hit a couple rock piles from Sterling Point to Two Rivers. I trolled the long sand flat from the boat ramp (Lincoln) to Two Rivers. I I jigged, I trolled cranks, I bottom bounced and it didn't' matter what you had out there a smallmouth ate it up. I came back Sunday evening frustrated and mad. A guy trolling with down riggers and pop gear going for big trout was catching SMALLmouth in 60 feet of water. I came back to the campsite and decided to sit on the beach with my 3 kids and just let them go crazy. My daughter caught her first fish on a lure. A yellow rooster tail netted a 11 inch smallmouth. We sat on that beach at Sterling Point and caught smallmouth every cast for literally 3 hours. It was insane. They never got bigger than 11 inches and most were around 6-8. Kids had a ball and it was a great weekend with the family.

Good fishing everyone.

Joe
