I have been fishing this lake for a little more than a year now with my father in law who has been fishing it for decades. In my expierience this lake is real hit and miss. We fished the whitestone area from 7am till about 11am without a bite. Trolled top with rapala minnows, and bottom with with same and flys too on a downrigger, tried a jig and a worm, even tried some powerbait. Covered a ton of water that showed grips of fish on the finder. Found one little cove area out of the wind and landed five bows on jointed minnows within an hour, strange yet very typical. My theorie is to look for more scattered concentrations of fish that are in the upper portion of the water column. Those thick patches of suspended fish seem to always be neutral or negative. We usually pick up one here, one there, and ocassionally get hot in one area, if were lucky. Sure are some nice trout though. Really makes it worth it. I'm sure the fishing will get better as the water temp gets down in the high 40's, and the lake level drops. Any day spent fishing is an excellent day! Good luck and please share on here, what a great resource.
