Been on vacation for a month. From July 3-9th I fished Lake Roosevelt. The mornings I fishd the banks near the lincoln boat ramp and caught about a million smallmouth between 6-9 inches. I caught a couple that were a little bit bigger but had to keep the young one on fish to keep her interested. Each day we caught 1 rainbow, biggest about 5lbs, it was like a tradition. At night it was grown up time and me and some buddies went after walleyes. Caught plenty of fish using red and chartruse lead head jigs with crawler. Best eating fish in the world. Saw a guy catching them off the lincoln boat ramp and he didn't know what they were. I told him they were good eating and he asked if you could smoke them. WOW! On vacation fished Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota. Pic is from a small lake in Iowa.
