Hit the water about 9AM, weather all day was broken overcast with calm to medium wind. Blew downstream in the morning, upstream in the afternoon. Headed home by 3:30.
Trolled from Split Rock down to Spokane Mouth.
Caught one 15" RB at 10:30, and one 13" RB at 10:50.
Caught one 16" Walleye around noon, by accident, released him for serious Walleye fishers.
That was it for the day. All three fish came from the Outhouse Flats area, south of Split Rock, on 4 to 5 colors of leaded line and 75 feet of 6# mono leader, with a #2 Needlefish fire orange on one side and pearl white on the other. I was staying over the shelf area, in 30 to 50 foot depth. The Rainbows were in really nice shape, and the big one made a great meal for the two of us that night.
I was pretty pleased, since I have not fished Roosevelt since fall of 2007. I have to watch the weather and wind carefully, my 12 foot Lund won't handle much wind on that water.
