When the weather man says 90% chance of rain never listen! We arrived at Fort Spokane around 7:30pm and the wind was calm and the moon was full. I had planned on launching my boat and fishing for Walleye but the darn weather man changed my mind. So a good buddy and I loaded up the Hummer with wood and planned on bank fishing for Burbot all night instead. That is what we did and we never saw one drop of rain and the wind was dead calm all night. We fished several different areas moving every hour or so until we started getting bit. Unfortunately we missed the fish for several hours. We had many bites but just could not get the hook set on time. Maybe it was the giant baits we were soaking? I dragged one Burbot up on the bank around midnight but the little fellow wiggled and squirmed until he found his/her way to freedom. We fell asleep around 2:00am next to the fire. At 3:46 I got up to check my bait and had a lucky trout hooked up. Our other lines...2 rod stamp...also were headed in different directions from where we casted but no hook ups. Between 4:00am and 6:00am we got the one Burbot and a nice little Walleye shown pictured. Left at light and went home to enjoy a nice little sampler platter. Man my buddy can cook up a mean fish!
