Didn't find the walleye. Caught one in 75' of water. Had another bite in the same area at the same depth. Beautiful day to be on the water, but the fish just didn't cooperate. Ton's of boats out. Most of them targeting trout. I'd be interested to know if anyone had any luck targeting walleye.

We jigged several spots for walleye on 2/4, 1/21, and 1/22. Started at 40' and worked ledges out to 120'. Couldn't buy anything but ling cod. I know better than to waste time without checking water temperature. My gut tells me It is below 40 at all depths down to about 120, which would mean very little walleye activity. I could be wrong. But, when the surface temp at all depths is below 37, it would be tough to find warm enough water at a tolerable depth for walleye to be active. I think they're there, just "dormant".

Thanks for the info. We were reading a surface temp just above 35 degrees everywhere we went. I'll try again in a couple of weeks. Glad to see you guys had a good trout outing.

I agree w/ Lund...little early (cold) for wallys...BUT if the weather continues, it should open up a little ealier this year. I would be trying upper Rufus (Elmer City area) first.
