Fished Roosevelt with my grandfather this last week with great success for Walleye. We launched at the Inchelium Ferry landing and ran down to Laussen Flats (sp) where we got into the fish immediately in about 17-20' of water. The fish were holding tight to weed beds throughout the area. We ran bottom walkers with green/glow worm harnesses and half a night crawler. Fishing was consistantly good on the flats although we found no large fish, which is strange. We decided to move up to Bissel Flats where we again encountered lots of fish in 17-25' of water hugging tight to weedy structure and again no large fish. We had a great day and brought home a ton of eater sized walleyes (limits for the boat) to fry up at home. We were surprised that we didn't catch any big ones, usually these two spots produce fish up to 12 pounds for us regularly. This marks the 12th year I have I gotten out on the water with my grandfather and I am pleased to say that I never get bored of his stories.
