I took my grandson, son-in law, and his other grandpa up to Lake Roosevelt Friday fishing. We stoipped at Big Wallys to pickup some worms and gas up, it was nice and sunny, what a surprise when we got to Steamboat we ran into a heavy snow storm with about 3" on the graound. Got to Spring Canyon and had to chainup to get launched. We finally got on the water about noon, battened down the top and fired up the heater and headed out, fished from the launch down to the can-line mostly on the south side, found some nice sized bows 4 over 20" and a beautiful 22" silver (3# 8oz). We caught all but one on orange Rapala's S11's and J9's.
Quit @ 4:30 landed 15 fish, kept some released some. By the time we got to the launch most of the snow was gone off the ramp, thank goodness. Saturday was slower had to work for 5 fish. We had a great time, grandson's 2nd trip to Roosevelt, he had a ball.

Nothing better than a picture of a kid holding a fish! Thank you for the report.

What was the silver ( Kokanee?) caught on? That little guy is holding a face full of fish and seems pretty proud of it! Can imagine the stories he is telling at school. All in all, a special day for everyone.

The silver was caught on a S11 orange w/ white belly Rapala, only caught 1 trout on the perch k-fly dodger combo
