3/4/2011 7:47:00 AMThat's funny....I don't know how many times I've been fishing for smallies in rivers.....Snake, Columbia, Okanogan, inflow to Billy Clapp Lake....and hooked carp, in the tail just like you mention. I wonder why it is that way......

3/4/2011 4:30:00 PMCarp can be great fighters. I've caught them on splitshot and spinnerbaits also. The spinnerbait one DID eat the spinnerbait, it weighed 12 pounds, was on Potholes during a Qualifier draw Bass tourney. Man I was sure I had a giant Largemouth. The splitshot one was off the dam on Potholes during a club tourny. I wasn't sure then and I'm still not sure if the fish got tangled in the line and then wrapped, or if it tried to eat it. When I took it out of the net the hook was still laying in the net.

3/5/2011 8:41:00 AMOf all the years bass fishing I got my first carp last year in Yellowtail Resevoir in Montana with a sniper on a dropshot. No doubt he picked it up. Had to get a picture of that slimer. We laughed pretty good over that 'false alarm'
