Well we hit the river for a couple days of Walleye and Rinbow fishing. The weather was cold rainy and very windy for most of the weekend. We trolled, jigged, and threw blade baits. We did hit a few nice Walleye and and a bunch of bigger rainbows. Water temp was 41.6 most of the weekend. River is dropping over a foot a day and will for the next wekk or more and after talking to the park service the river will drop below launch levels in that area. The river will stay at its lowest for about 2 weeks for dam maintenance. They said even 7 bays launch will be closed for low water as well so dont know where we will be launching. They closed Fort Spokane on Friday. I know there is a trout derby at 2 rivers at the end of April wonder where they plan on launching their boats if they have the river pulled that far down lol...Here are a few pics from the trip.

I guess the derby is the 16th and 17th at Two Rivers marina

Nice report! We fished near Seven Bays on Saturday and it was definitely windy with white caps everywhere and rough water conditions. Yep, the derby is the 16th & 17th. I'm pretty sure there will be launches available, Seven Bays and Spring Canyon are usable to 1227' and 1222' respectively. I would think the folks at Two Rivers, and the other derby sponsors, would have contacted the Corps of Engineers about how low they plan to take the reservoir. Official level yesterday was 1246.80', so they're going to have to drop it another 20' to make Seven Bays launch unusable. According to the NW River Forecast Center, the forebay elevation at Grand Coulee Dam is trending toward 1235' on 4/14, so I think there won't be a problem for the derby. You can check the graph here - http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/river/station/flowplot/flowplot.cgi?GCDW1.

I heard they are going to take it down to 1221.00 this came from the guy who does the fish checks at the launch. He said they were going to keep it down for 2 weeks for dam repair and the launchs wouldnt be accessible, i hope hes wrong lol. I called two rivers yesterday and they dont know anything about the water levels and where they will be for the derby, they thought Fort Spokane was still open and it closed last friday...

Well, 1221 will make all launches unusable. Let's hope it stays above that level for the derby. My wife registered us today! :-)
